Warranty Policy
5-year structural and axle warranty on every trailer we build — backed by Black Mesa Manufacturing LLC.
Covers defects in the main frame, welded structural components, crossmembers, tongue, uprights, and top rails under normal use.
Covers defects in Dexter axle assemblies and suspension components under normal use and service conditions.
1. Our Commitment
Black Mesa Manufacturing LLC certifies that every trailer we manufacture is built with high-quality materials and craftsmanship. We stand behind every unit that leaves our Oregon facility.
This Warranty Policy applies to all utility trailers and car haulers manufactured and sold by Black Mesa Manufacturing LLC.
2. Warranty Coverage
2.1 Structural Warranty — 5 Years
Covers defects in:
- Main frame and welded structural components
- Frame crossmembers and tongue
- Structural uprights and top rails
- All factory welds under normal use and service conditions
2.2 Axle Warranty — 5 Years
Covers defects in:
- Dexter axle assemblies
- Suspension components
- Factory-installed axle hardware under normal use and service conditions
2.3 Paint and Finish Warranty
- Manufacturing defects in the two-stage industrial coating (primer + enamel) at the time of delivery only
- Finish defects must be documented and reported within 48 hours of delivery
3. Warranty Eligibility
This warranty applies exclusively to the original purchaser of the trailer and is non-transferable. It becomes void if the trailer is sold, transferred, or otherwise conveyed to a third party.
To be eligible, the following must be met:
- Trailer must be purchased from Black Mesa Manufacturing LLC or an authorized dealer
- Must be used for its intended purpose under normal operating conditions
- Must not have been modified or repaired by unauthorized personnel
- Must be properly maintained according to standard trailer care practices
4. What This Warranty Does NOT Cover
Damage and Misuse
- Damage caused by accidents, collisions, or impact
- Misuse, abuse, or negligent operation
- Improper loading or overloading beyond the rated GVWR
- Failure to properly secure cargo
- Use of the trailer beyond its rated capacity
Modifications and Unauthorized Repairs
- Unauthorized modifications, repairs, or alterations made after purchase
- Damage caused by repairs performed by unauthorized parties
Wear and Environmental Damage
- Normal wear and tear from regular use
- Corrosion, rust, or oxidation from moisture, road salts, or environmental conditions
- Cosmetic damage — fading, scratches, chips occurring after delivery
- Damage from chemicals, solvents, or incompatible cleaning products
Third-Party Components
- Tires and wheels — covered by the tire and wheel manufacturer's warranty
- LED lighting and electrical components — covered by their respective manufacturer warranties
- Bearings — covered by manufacturer warranty
- Hardware and fasteners subject to normal wear
Costs Not Covered
- Labor costs unless pre-approved in writing by Black Mesa Manufacturing LLC
- Towing or transportation costs unless pre-approved in writing
- Costs associated with removal or reinstallation of the trailer for inspection
- Incidental, consequential, or indirect damages arising from a defect
5. Limitation of Warranty
This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective parts at the sole discretion of Black Mesa Manufacturing LLC. We reserve the right to determine whether a defect is covered under this warranty after inspection and verification.
This warranty is the exclusive remedy available to the original purchaser and supersedes all other warranties, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
6. How to File a Warranty Claim

Step 2 — Required Information
All warranty claims must include:
- Proof of purchase (invoice or receipt)
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- Frame Identification Number
- Description of the defect or issue
- Photographs clearly documenting the defect
- Date the defect was first noticed
Step 3 — Inspection and Authorization
Black Mesa Manufacturing LLC reserves the right to inspect and verify the reported defect before approving any repair or replacement. All claims require prior written authorization before any repair work begins.
Step 4 — Resolution
Once the defect is verified and the claim is approved, Black Mesa Manufacturing LLC will at our discretion:
- Repair the defective component
- Replace the defective component
- Replace the unit if repair or component replacement is not feasible
7. Warranty Claim Timeline
- Paint and finish defects — within 48 hours of delivery
- Structural defects — within the 5-year warranty period
- Axle and suspension defects — within the 5-year warranty period
Claims submitted outside these timeframes may not be eligible for coverage.
8. Warranty Registration
While registration is not required for coverage, we encourage all customers to retain the following documents:
- Original purchase invoice
- Warranty Certificate issued at time of purchase
- VIN and Frame Identification Number (found on the trailer's identification plate)
- Axle brand and serial number
These documents are required to process any warranty claim.
9. Governing Law
This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States. Any disputes arising from this warranty shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Oregon.
